Resources & Steel

Gather consistently.. protect what you earn.. and spend against a plan.

Account growth eventually becomes a resource-management problem. Food, Wood, Electricity, Steel, Diamonds, and Gold all compete for your attention, but they should not all be treated the same way.

The strongest economy is not the one with the largest exposed balance. It is the one that keeps marches working, protects inventory, and converts resources into meaningful progression at the right time.

Core Principle

Do not measure your economy by what is sitting in the bar. Measure it by how efficiently you can fund the next goal.

01
Economy Map

Know What Each Resource Is For

Different currencies become bottlenecks at different points in account growth.

🌾

Food

Used for: Troop training, healing, and many upgrades.

Common sources: Gathering, tasks, events, rallies, and inventory packs.

🪵

Wood

Used for: Construction and research throughout account growth.

Common sources: Gathering, tasks, events, alliance rewards, and packs.

Electricity

Used for: Research and increasingly expensive higher-level upgrades.

Common sources: Gathering, tasks, events, alliance rewards, and packs.

🔩

Steel

Used for: Late-game Headquarters growth and Steel Age progression.

Common sources: Tyrant, bounties, Steel nodes, events, and limited rewards.

💎

Diamonds

Used for: Flexible premium currency for selected progression and event value.

Common sources: Events, tasks, codes, chests, and milestone rewards.

🪙

Gold

Used for: Routine shop purchases and selected progression costs.

Common sources: Tasks, events, exploration, and recurring rewards.

02
Gathering

Turn Idle Time Into Inventory

World-map gathering is one of the most reliable ways to improve an account without spending.

1

Use every idle march

An unused march produces nothing. Send spare formations to gather whenever they are not needed for rallies, combat, or timed objectives.

2

Gather before long breaks

Before sleep, work, or any extended time offline, place as many marches as practical on resource nodes.

3

Choose efficient nodes

Higher-level nodes usually provide better returns and reduce how often you need to restart marches.

4

Reduce travel time

Gather near your Headquarters or alliance territory whenever possible so more of the march is spent collecting instead of traveling.

5

Use gathering bonuses

Gathering heroes, alliance technology, territory bonuses, and temporary buffs can improve the return from the same amount of time.

Overnight rule: Before a long break, send every march you can spare to gather. A consistent routine matters more than a single perfect gathering session.
03
Protection

Protect Resources Before They Become Exposed

The safest resource is usually the one you have not opened yet.

Keep packs unopened

Inventory resource packs are safer than exposed resources. Open only what the next upgrade, research, healing batch, or event action requires.

Know the Warehouse limit

The Warehouse protects only part of your exposed resources. Anything above that protected amount can become a target.

Avoid sitting on excess

When practical, begin a planned upgrade or research project rather than leaving a large exposed balance idle.

Stay with your alliance

Alliance territory, active teammates, and clear state diplomacy generally make resource protection easier.

Do not panic-spend

Protection does not mean wasting materials. Spend against a plan, not simply because you are worried about being attacked.

04
Steel

Treat Steel as a Planned Progression Currency

Steel becomes increasingly important in late Headquarters progression and Steel Age research, and it is slower to replace than basic resources.

1

Tyrant

Regular alliance participation can become one of the most dependable recurring sources of Steel.

2

Bounty missions

Complete and refresh bounties consistently, especially when Steel rewards are available.

3

Steel nodes

Once available in your progression, dedicate idle marches to Steel gathering when it is your active bottleneck.

4

Events and milestones

Check event chests, exchange shops, and milestone rewards before spending currencies elsewhere.

5

Long-term saving

Steel becomes expensive quickly. Avoid using it simply because an upgrade is available; confirm that the upgrade supports your next major goal.

Steel Rule

Know the next Steel requirement before spending the current balance.

When Steel is your bottleneck, prioritize recurring sources and avoid diverting it into side upgrades that do not advance your next Headquarters, research, or season objective.

05
Passive Production

Resource Buildings Are Support.. Not the Entire Economy

Passive buildings are useful, but their output is generally modest compared with active gathering, event rewards, alliance activity, and inventory packs.

Upgrade when it supports progression

  • Meet Headquarters prerequisites.
  • Unlock meaningful production or system requirements.
  • Use short upgrades when they fit an event or queue plan.

Avoid over-prioritizing them

  • Do not tie up builders while critical Headquarters requirements wait.
  • Do not assume passive production can replace gathering.
  • Do not spend more upgrading production than the building will return in a useful timeframe.
06
Daily Routine

Build a Repeatable Resource Loop

Small recurring actions create a more stable economy than occasional emergency farming.

Daily resource checklist

  • Collect daily tasks, alliance gifts, Radar rewards, and event milestones.
  • Use marches for gathering whenever they are not needed elsewhere.
  • Check bounties, trucks, rallies, and event shops for resource or Steel value.
  • Keep major resource packs closed until the moment they are needed.
  • Review tomorrow's event rotation before starting a large upgrade or research project.
  • Confirm Hospital room before combat so resources are not consumed fixing avoidable losses.

Before a major spend

  • Confirm the upgrade supports your active goal.
  • Check whether the action can score in Full Preparedness, Alliance Duel, or another event.
  • Open only the resource packs required.
  • Leave enough flexibility for healing, research, or unexpected requirements.
07
Mistakes

Common Ways Players Create Their Own Shortage

  • Leaving several marches idle for long periods.
  • Opening every resource pack as soon as it is earned.
  • Upgrading passive resource buildings ahead of higher-impact Headquarters requirements.
  • Ignoring Tyrant, bounties, and other recurring Steel opportunities.
  • Spending Steel on low-priority upgrades without checking future requirements.
  • Using diamonds to replace resources that could have been gathered or earned through routine play.
08
Decision Check

Ask These Questions Before Spending

Is this the right goal?

Will the spend advance Headquarters, purposeful research, your main formation, or another clearly defined priority?

Is this the right time?

Can the same spend earn event rewards or prevent a queue from sitting idle?

Is this resource replaceable?

Basic resources can often be gathered. Steel and premium currencies deserve more caution.

Am I opening too much?

Use only what is required and leave the rest protected in inventory.
