Zombie Siege
Bring every formation home, defend your HQ, and turn fallen members into reinforcement support.
Zombie Siege sends repeated zombie waves against eligible alliance HQs. Each member earns personal progress by defending their own base, while the alliance earns more by surviving deeper into the event together. The event currently features 30 waves; after two failed defenses, that HQ is knocked out and stops receiving new attacks.
Thirty waves, two failed defenses, one alliance objective.
The event runs for roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes or ends early if all participating HQs are eliminated. Only R4/R5 can schedule it, typically on Monday or Tuesday. Verify the active schedule, selected difficulty, eligibility, and reward details in Event Center before every run.
What matters before Wave 1
Preparation and attendance are more important than reacting after the first HQ begins to fail.

Five phases of a coordinated siege
Wave strength and alliance needs can vary. Follow live calls rather than treating these phases as exact wave numbers.
Prepare Every HQ
Get troops home, set wall defense, clear hospitals, and stop activities that pull formations away.
Priority actions
- Confirm the exact start time in Apocalypse Time and remind members before the event opens.
- Recall all formations from mining, Boomers, zombies, treasure digging, rallies, and distant reinforcements.
- Set the strongest available formation on the wall and verify that troop capacity is filled.
- Clear hospital space and prepare healing speedups for players who expect to reinforce heavily.
- Identify weaker members who may need help in the later waves and assign nearby support players.
The event is largely won before Wave 1. A strong account with troops away or no wall formation can fail far earlier than expected.
Do not assume a peace shield will protect the HQ. Zombie Siege attacks continue through shields.
Let Members Score Their Own Defenses
Hold your HQ with your own wall formation and avoid unnecessary early reinforcement.
Priority actions
- Watch your battle reports and confirm the wall formation is holding without heavy losses.
- Refresh War Frenzy when available so the buff carries through as many waves as possible.
- Keep extra formations at home unless leadership has assigned an urgent support target.
- Use the gaps between waves to monitor alliance chat and identify bases whose defense is beginning to weaken.
- Continue avoiding all outside activities that remove troops from the HQ.
Early reinforcements can reduce the personal points earned by the member being helped. Allow capable players to clear the opening waves themselves.
Do not send every spare formation away during easy waves and leave your own HQ unable to absorb the next difficulty jump.
Reinforce Where It Extends Alliance Survival
Support struggling members once waves become difficult, while preserving your own wall defense.
Priority actions
- Reinforce members who are close to failing but can still survive additional waves with help.
- Prioritize nearby targets so formations arrive before the next attack rather than after it lands.
- Keep the strongest required formation and enough troops at home to protect your own HQ.
- Recall and redirect reinforcements when a supported base is knocked out or no longer needs help.
- Use alliance chat to report failed defenses, incoming support, and open reinforcement slots.
The best reinforcement is timed and purposeful. Supporting the right base for several extra waves improves alliance rewards more than scattering troops everywhere.
Do not reinforce a base blindly. Check travel time, remaining capacity, and whether the member has already failed twice.
Protect the Deepest Survivors
Concentrate support on HQs that can still push the alliance farther into the wave sequence.
Priority actions
- Shift support toward members whose defenses remain viable against the strongest waves.
- Rotate damaged reinforcements home when fresh troops can replace them more effectively.
- Keep War Frenzy active and monitor hospital capacity before sending another heavy march.
- Follow alliance calls when leaders consolidate support onto a smaller group of surviving HQs.
- Accept that not every HQ can be saved; prioritize actions that increase total alliance progress.
Late waves are where alliance coordination matters most. Concentrated reinforcements can carry several members farther than equal support spread across already-lost bases.
Do not waste diamonds extinguishing an HQ fire. Burning does not restore a failed defense or change the knockout rule.
Switch Fully Into Support Mode
Once your HQ has failed twice, use every useful formation to help members still receiving waves.
Priority actions
- Confirm that your HQ is no longer receiving attacks after the second failed defense.
- Send available formations to designated survivors instead of leaving troops idle at home.
- Choose support targets with open capacity and enough strength to benefit from reinforcement.
- Recall troops from eliminated targets and immediately redirect them when travel time allows.
- Stay online until the event finishes so your marches can continue supporting the alliance.
A knocked-out player is not finished contributing. Full support after elimination is one of the easiest ways to improve alliance-wide rewards.
Do not log off immediately after your own HQ stops receiving waves if other members still need reinforcement.
Refresh the buff throughout the siege.
Activate War Frenzy before or during the event and renew it when available so the combat boost covers repeated defenses. The exact refresh interval can vary with the active buff display, so use the live timer rather than relying on memory. Trigger it without committing a valuable formation to an activity that keeps troops away from home.
Everyone still has a job after their own defense ends
A coordinated alliance turns stronger HQs, support marches, and knocked-out members into one shared defense network.
R4/R5 scheduler
Select the difficulty and start time, announce it clearly, and verify the live rules before launch.
Self-defenders
Keep troops home, maintain the strongest wall formation, and report when defenses begin to fail.
Support players
Hold extra formations for the middle and late waves, then reinforce assigned weaker members.
Late-wave anchors
Use stronger HQs and reinforcement capacity to push the alliance as far as possible.
Chat coordinators
Track failed defenses, open reinforcement slots, travel times, and target changes between waves.
Knocked-out members
Redirect every useful formation to surviving teammates after the second failed defense.
Protect your wall before sending support.
Reinforcements help the alliance only when your own HQ remains defensible. Watch troop counts, wounded units, hospital capacity, and reinforcement travel time. Once your HQ is officially knocked out, the balance changes: your remaining formations can be committed fully to surviving members.
Common ways alliances lose waves and rewards
Troops away at start
Mining, rallies, Boomers, and treasure activities can leave the wall without enough troops.
No wall formation
A powerful account can fall immediately when its strongest heroes are not assigned to defense.
Shielding
Peace shields do not stop Zombie Siege waves and provide no event advantage.
Reinforcing too early
Premature support can take personal points away from members who could clear early waves alone.
Emptying your own HQ
Sending every formation away may save one member while causing your own defense to fail.
Extinguishing fires
Spending diamonds on an HQ fire does not undo failed defenses and is usually wasted value.
Alliance checklist
- 1Is the start time confirmed in Apocalypse Time?
- 2Are all formations home and outside activities stopped?
- 3Is every member's strongest formation on the wall?
- 4Are later-wave reinforcement targets assigned?
- 5Will knocked-out members remain online to support?
